(Psychological Assessments are only available to current clients of Dr. Liana)
Psychological assessment is a process in which the psychologist administers various tests and measures to get a very accurate understanding of someone’s struggles.
It offers a comprehensive and in-depth understanding into someone’s overall psychological makeup and can offer important answers to questions that might not be answered with therapy or behavioral observations alone.
Testing gives us in-depth understanding of someone’s overall psychological profile
including things like:
Personality functioning
Interpersonal functioning
Social and emotional functioning
Cognitive functioning
Why is this important?
Helps with accurate diagnoses being made
For diagnostic clarification, especially when there are multiple issues that might be present
Aids in Treatment Planning
Helps identify issues that might not be clear
Allows us to understand someone’s strengths and weaknesses
Testing can be done in person or online. Depending on the issues and concerns being assessed, the process might be done in one setting with just a few assessment measures, or if more complex questions are being answered, may happen over a few different testing sessions with a more comprehensive battery.
